Balerno Sunday Mornings ˗ˏˋ ✞ ΛŽΛŠΛ—

On Sunday mornings there are three different ways we meet (10.30am to 12pm):

Envision (S1-S6) β€“ This tends to land on the first Sunday of the month. It is our youth-led church service for the youth of both Balerno and Livingston. Includes an icebreaker, meditation, worship and word all led by our amazing young people!
Meet at Ladycroft for this.

Refuel (S1-S6) – Our other youth service tends to take place on weeks three and four of the month. It happens in a cafe setting with refreshments, alongside worship led by the young people and a discussion based Bible study. Meet at Ladycroft.

Other Sundays - On the second Sunday of each month, our young people tend to be in the main Balerno High School Service to help them integrate into the main St Mungo’s church family, along with this being the serving Sunday for our Deeper Youth, who serve across all the various ministries. Young people can either sit with parents or with their fellow youth in a section reserved for them within the concourse.

Livingston Sunday Small Groups

Livingston Sunday Small Groups ✝️

Sunday Morning Small Groups are on each Sunday at St Margaret’s Academy other than the first Sunday of the month when Livi Youth join Balerno Youth at Envision at Ladycroft.

The Sunday small groups are open to all in P6-S6 and it sees the youth join everyone in the main 10:30am service for worship, before moving into small groups to spend time together and grapple with issues of faith and life.

Once a month the Livi young people also have a social to encourage the relationships to be built within the group and for them to enjoy spending time together.

Other Events

Other Events πŸ“…πŸŽ«πŸ“…

In addition to ALL that is above, we take part in a number of other events throughout the year! Here’s some info on some of these!

Magnitude

Each year we attend Magnitude summer festival as a group, along with thousands of other young people from around Scotland. A highlight video from our past trips to Magnitude is below if you’d like to get a flavour of this event.

N.B. Bookings with us have now closed for this year’s festival. However, if you’d like to be added to a waiting list to join us, contact us using the button at the bottom of this section.

Throughout the year, we also join with the wider local church in attending worship nights run by Magnitude. More info on these can be found here

The Send

We are so excited for what is God is doing in our country and are extremely excited to be attending an event that has already taken place in various countries that on Sat 29 March 2025 is being brought to Scotland, to the Braehead Arena in Glasgow

We are taking a group of youth and young adults along to this event and if you’re within this age group, we’d love for you to join us. You can get more information about the event here but we are very excited by what we believe God is going to do through this event and the impact it will have on our nation and so we're really encouraging our young people to prioritise this.

Leavers Weekend

Each year we love to celebrate our S6’s who are heading off to their next chapter in lives. This always involves a big three course meal where we get a chance to share memories about our graduates time in youth and last year we also launched our commisioning service and next steps BBQ.

Our event this year will be taking place the weekend of 16-17 August with the leavers meal happening on the Saturday evening (open to our current S5-S6’s with S4’s serving), the commisioning service on Sunday morning (open to all from new S1’s to leavers) and the next steps BBQ that afternoon exclusively for our leavers.

Please keep these dates free!

Baptisms

Undoubtedly our favourite Sundays of the year are whenever we have the opportunity to celebrate one of our young people making the faith commitment of baptism. These joyful days are such significant moments in the faith journey of those getting baptised so we love to celebrate together as a church family.

If you’re a member of St Mungo’s and are thinking about baptism (click here to find out more), we’d love to chat. We are beginning to plan ahead for our next baptism service - likely to be at the beginning of June. So if you’re interested in finding out more about what’s involved, why we do baptism or want to be baptised get in touch with us below!
