….to all the young people and youth leaders who took part in the Hope weekend last weekend – whether it was washing cars, painting fences, gardening, building a boardwalk, face painting or running activities for children. Thanks for giving up your time over the bank holiday weekend. We had a great time and pray for an ongoing impact in the community. Some photos from the weekend are on the Gallery.

‘Taking Hope Out’. Church was never meant to exist just within 4 walls. It was meant to be out among the people! So that;s what we’re doing! We’re going out… Outside! The field beside the Wellness centre (opposite the High School) to be precise! We’ll be having some games, some alternative worship and a talk by a guy called Erik Thomson who has spent years taking Hope out to people in Mongolia. Should be a great morning. We’ll be meeting at the field but if we get rained off we’ll go to the church building.

*WARNING* bring your wellies and warm clothes!

Saturday evening – 7.30pm to 9.30pm for food and games (£3 per person) for those that have been involved over the Hope weekend)

I wish you could all speak in tongues, but even more I wish you could all prophesy.

“Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives—especially the ability to prophesy. For if you have the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking only to God, since people won’t be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious. But one who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them. A person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally, but one who speaks a word of prophecy strengthens the entire church.”

(1 Corinthians 14:1-5)

Tongues. A gift that I have always wanted but also a gift that I knew very little about! And a gift that I didn’t know how to use even if I did have it!?! I don’t know if you’ve ever felt like this but we’re having another Cell Group Extra on Sunday 29^th April where we’ll have the chance to explore this gift. All S3-S6 go to the school as normal and then we’ll all head up to the ministry centre during ‘cell time’ for some group teaching. I’m excited already!! See you then, Helen.
