In 1968 thousands of homeless, persecuted refugees from Nigeria were pouring over the borders into Biafra, in West Africa, following a vicious civil war. The news carried graphic pictures of the tragedy. Christians were moved and began sending money to a group called the Evangelical Alliance. They said, in short, Help them. It was a cry of compassion from a whole community of people and as a result, Tearfund was born.
When theres a natural disaster maybe a volcano or hurricane thats destroyed peoples lives, or a war thats left thousands in refugee camps - Tearfund supports projects that help those in need. When stories describe problems in the world, such as children who are forced to sell sex to survive or about people who die because there is no clean water to drink, people are moved to give... just like those Christians in 1968. Tearfund receives this money and uses it to help Christians all over the world who are trying to solve these problems.
Tearfund also lobbies the government who can make decisions such as whether to make clean water easily available or whether to stop manufacturing bombs that kill innocent people. Tearfund talks to the decision makers to make sure they take peoples needs seriously, particularly people who are poor and often neglected.

The heart of Soul Survivor is to envision young people of all denominations to capture first a vision of Jesus, and then to equip, train, empower and release them into his ministry in their every day lives.
We do this in many different ways which may include: conferences, retreats, resources, local church-based events, training events, discipleship courses and mentoring programs.

For those that don't know, Soul Action is the sister charity of Soul Survivor. Worship is a key value of Soul Survivor, and with Soul Action we get to explore ways in which our lives of worship lead us to care for our communities and, more specifically, our neigbours. Soul Action focuses on that enduring biblical theme of God's heart for those who are socially or economically poor and excluded. The Noise comes in as a way in which we can get out of our church buildings and serve, love and practically help those around us. Churches across the nation, for one weekend, put on events and host servant hearted projects to bless the communities they are part of. Why? Because together we want to show God's love to his world!
Youth for Christ (YFC) is a national Christian charity that was founded by Billy Graham in 1946. Working with around 200,000 young people each month, we draw alongside teens from every background and culture in Britain. Our 150 fulltime staff and countless local volunteers specialise in working with unchurched youth: communicating and demonstrating the Christian faith. In all of our youth work we use a four D approach:
Demonstrate
Gods love
Declare
relevantly the good news about Jesus
Decision
Giving young people the opportunity to accept Christ as their
personal Saviour
Disciple
Serve the local Church by providing both evangelistic and discipleship
resources

Our little mission statement for this website is, "Resourcing the worship leader. Refreshing the worshipper." We hope that this website can do both.
Each month there will be a biblical insight into worship; unpacking the Scriptures on the subject. Alongside this there will be practical articles that hopefully will resource and challenge us as we all seek to grow in our gifting.
We are also keen to encourage songwriters. Each month there will be a new article on crafting and developing fresh songs. Additionally there will be a free song - a simple acoustic version, accompanied by sheet music.
